Default Lock your computer

Many Windows users worry about security, but they forget to lock their computers when they step away. If you work in an office environment or someplace else where you don't want people to snoop on your work, press the Windows key and tap the letter "L" to quickly lock your machine before you leave. Otherwise, anyone can walk up and look at what you've been doing. Locking your PC means that someone would have to know your password before gaining access.

That's a good one, Jay! I'll be using this one a lot, not for snoops, but for security in case of a burglary.

My home was robbed 2 years ago, one of the items taken was the laptop computer I kept in the kitchen. Fortunately, I did not have any personal, financial or confidential information on that computer at the time.

Now at the very least, each of my computers is locked when not in use and requires a password. Additionally, I password protect all files that contain any confidential information.

I have also been investigating folder/drive encryption options (such as TrueCrypt) for even greater security.
