To follow hyperlinks in Word documents, you have to hold down the Ctrl key while clicking the link. If you want to follow links the usual way, you can change this behaviour. Open the Tools menu, and click Options. From the Options dialog box, select the Edit tab. Then remove the check mark in the box labeled “Use Ctrl + click to follow hyperlink.”
