Default Which folders are taking up all the space on your hard drive?

Folder Sizes (http://www.foldersizes.com) can be of great assistance in helping you to find out which folders and files on your drive(s) are consuming the most space. Just launch the tool, point it at your C drive, and it will start analysing the folders immediately, showing you with a bar graph exactly which ones contain files that are eating up the most space. You can also use the tool to generate reports about duplicate files and--most importantly--the largest files on your drive.

I've used these before. Hands down my most heavy folder is my videos folder, full of movies, TV shows, anime, etc. But now my RAW files folder is getting pretty big, gotta back up.

Trouble with music on an external is that the external USB connection is often too slow if you use media apps like Windows Media Player.

I agree with that JD. For streaming media off an external drive connected directly to the PC I would recommend an eSATA connection. A good NAS drive is better for streaming than USB tool.

My wife's old system has a small HD, so I have our music collection for her use on an external HD via a USB port.

We both use J. River's Media Center (J. River Media Center software) for playing our music (have used it for years and I think it's the cat's meow). She has no problems playing from the external HD.
