Smile Thanks

Well, THANKS for the invite-- since I am old and tech challenged I figured I would just HAVE to learn something here. Being retired I am able to devote my full time to photography. And of course my naps. Here is a old boy I crossed paths with on a camping trip last week. He is about 5 feet long and about as big as my wrist in the center.

That is a fine image! And I envy your naps.

What part of the country did you take the pic? Looks like an Eastern Diamonback more than a Western?

Blue Ridge Mtn.'s of Virginia. I believe it is a Timber Rattler, from what I could find in my research.

Yikes. Not the kind of critter I want to find myself almost stepping on.

Having quit smoking 13 years ago when I had a heart attack, my sense of smell improved a great deal. I really thought I could smell him when I first walked up-- It was a kind of 'musky' smell. ??
