2 Laptops, one new HP, the other 3 are all homebuilt by me. I owned and operated a computer store for 5 years in Colombia and have many boxes full of parts that I still build PC's for friends and family only though. My principal PC is an AMD, Gigabyte based quad system that I use for photo editing primarily, my other is a Pentium dual core that my wife uses if she isn't on her laptop.

We have over a dozen, kinda lost count. Mostly older DOS laptops, (Toshibas) with expired batteries, and thus they won't run. We have one we use for online, but keep very little information on it.

I have 4 win2000 in use for the programs that insist on using that operating system, I have 2 XP and 2 vista and now 1 win 7.

I try to keep the shortcuts in the same place on all but I have to share some of the computers at work and the laptops with my husband.

Default Re: Shortcuts

This may be a bit far out, but I use my own system of shortcuts rather than what FF supplies. I use the Win XP desktop icons to make internet shortcuts. These are easy to copy to thumbdrives for use on other computers, and I am a lot more confident in them being there than a shortcut system which might change on me when I update the FF version.

Then I get pictures of whoever for each website, copy them to Jpegs, and convert them to icons using the Windows Paint program, but saving them as .bmp and renaming them to .ico. Finish off by using an Icon program on them to make icons. I have icons I can click on to check the weather radar, many other things.

Three desktops at home, 1 laptop at home, 1 net book at wife's lab/studio, 5 desktops at her lab/studio/ 1 raid server, one desktop to run the Chromira printer and one to run her Fuji scanners and Frontier Printer. More than enough---most are old Windows 2000 for the machine but rest are Vista, home computers are 1 Windows 7, rest are Windows XP. One is a custom made computer with Windows Professional 7, 1 tb drive, 6 gigs RAM, fast video and graphics card, big power supply, Intel i7. It flies but, alas, it is my wife's.
