A few months ago, I took a chance and ordered two CC Witnesses from C.Crane in California. These shirt pocket sized devices record directly to mp3 files, which can be either internal to the Witness, or onto an external SD or SDHC card, which can be up to 16 GB. Whenever you want, you can copy an internal file over to the SD card, and also the SD card files can be quickly copied to and from a computer using a card reader. Since these devices also have built-in AM/FM radios, you can see lots of possibilities.
The end product is pretty nifty. You can set up to 20 timers to record any AM or FM radio program to automatically record to the device, once or every day or week. It also functions nicely as an mp3 player, and you can also set it to just play various radio stations at various times, using an external FM transmitter so that it automatically sends your favorite programs every day to every FM radio in your house. Several months later, I ordered two more, because it works best to have some not recording at any particular time so you can play them. __________________
