Default Best IT careers

For those who have worked in the IT industry, what do you consider to be the best positions and why?

Wow. This is a hard question to answer! From my experience in the south eastern Michigan area the guys (and girls) that are having the most difficulty right now are the one's with very specialized fields. Most of the people that are more like a "Jack of all trades" find the most work. However most people are struggling to make a decent living right now too.

Jon.

Michigan in general has been pretty hard hit by the downturn, I guess. I'm not sure what the big companies there are. Here in D.C. there's almost always work, thanks to the gov't.

I am in Iowa and being a "Jack of all trades" I find very few jobs around.. Most are senior positions or entry level.. My last interview I was one of five selected out of around 80 applicants.. I have worked a total of 55.5 hours since September..
