Default no video

Ok here's a question that I can't solve. I have an Acer Aspire 1 (AOA150). When trying to watch awmv movie all I get is sound, no video. I'm sure it's a wrong setting somewhere. I have deleted and reloaded wondows movie player 11, still no go. What have I done wrong? Running XP sp3, quick time movies and web cam work fine.

Default just few suggestions

Can you play any other wmv file through the player?
You probably need to update the codecs for the player, also check the player as to which files it is enabled to play. sometimes we just accept the defaults and miss what we really want. Well i do anyway :-)

Default Try

going to tools>options> performance tab and try resetting the graphics accelerator down a tad or two and see if that does it.
